Pascal Siakam’s foundation scheduled to make a donation to local hospital that supports children and
youth with disabilities

TORONTO, ON — SEPTEMBER 21, 2021 — Pascal Siakam and the PS43 Foundation Canada get set to put smiles on the faces of children at the Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital with a safe visit from the NBA champion himself and a donation to support the hospital’s efforts in creating a world of
possibility for children and youth no matter the barriers they face.

The financial contribution of $100,000 will be donated to Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation on the morning of September 23, 2021.

“The Foundation is so thankful for this generous gift towards Holland Bloorview. This will support pediatric disability by providing education and awareness in the community, particularly for marginalized
groups in racialized communities,” said Sandra Hawken, the president & CEO of Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation.

The Bloorview School Authority, located onsite at the hospital, is an educational facility that provides innovative school programs for children and youth with disabilities. The new relationship between the PS43 Foundation Canada and Holland Bloorview advances the foundation’s vision of a generation of dreamers where children feel empowered to become anything they want to be through the power of education.

“With our mission to empower children and youth, and Holland Bloorview being the largest Canadian children’s rehabilitation hospital, it was the perfect partnership,” said Siakam. “We hope this donation helps Holland Bloorview further their incredible work with children rehabilitation and education.”

In addition to the donation, Siakam will have the opportunity to interact, take pictures, and hold a Q&A session in a safe environment with the 32 children who will take part in this event. The one-hour meet-and-greet will provide an opportunity for the children to safely have some fun with Siakam who has been away from Toronto since June 2020. He returned to the city ahead of the new NBA season after the Toronto Raptors moved to Tampa, Florida due to ongoing border restrictions in Canada during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I have missed Toronto. It’s so nice to be back, but it’s even better to be back and help out the community,” said Siakam. “I’m glad the foundation and I can help make an impact in the lives of these kids and their families, as well as support the incredible work of the hospital.”

The outdoor event will be limited in the number of participants in attendance, allowing for the safety of everyone during the pandemic. Masking, gathering in small groups, and physical distancing will be
practiced alongside following the hospital’s protocols. Only select media will be in attendance to cover the
event safely.
